Planting with Seed Pods is fun and easy! Just insert the pre-seeded pods in your garden, add water, and the patented, specially formulated Liquid Nutrients. Most plants germinate within 7-14 days, are ready for harvesting in 4-6 weeks, and will keep producing continuous harvests for up to 6 months and longer. Indoor gardening can’t get any tastier or simpler!
Lettuce is one of the fastest-growing indoor crops and it's a staple. Who doesn't love to be healthy with delicious home-grown lettuce, or add a fresh leaf of romaine on their sandwich, or a salad of tasty arugula? And with AeroGarden, you can enjoy delicious Spring greens all throughout fall and winter! As a general rule, never prune more than ⅓ of any plant at once.
Different types of plants take different amounts of time to germinate and grow. In general, we’ve found these germination timeframes to be consistent:
- Flowers take about 7-12 days
- Salads: 5-8 days
- Herbs: 5-15 days
- Fruiting vegetables (such as tomatoes and peppers): 7-14 days
If any of your seed pods don’t germinate after 21 days, contact us so we can send out a replacement for you under our 100% germination guarantee.

Fast way to start seeds before moving outdoors
Received this as a gift. Took down the previous herb garden and set up seed starter. Since I didn't see individual domes and wanted the humidity that the dome allows, I turned the plastic that the seed starter pods rested in, upside down over the seeds when I finished loading each of the 50 pods. I had to cut a little notch out of the back side of it so it would fit around the light support post and rest over the whole tray. My seeds started sprouting in about 3 days. I did soak all the pods for 24 hours before loading any seeds. Am concerned about how they will survive once I transplant them into the garden but will try hardening them off before I do. I am now trying to order more seed starter pods. I saw

Must have for DIY
This is a must have if you save your seeds, exchange seeds with friends or just want to purchase seed for the season. The kit includes the grow sponges and a container of liquid fertilizer which is plenty enough to grow your seeds for the season. I have included a picture of the growth of some of my seeds after 33 days in my AeroGarden. As you can see, I’ve already removed a bunch of them which I have planted in pots while waiting for planting outside in my garden. The only downside to this is that since it is for a newer AeroGarden they have yet to have a planting template guide for download. The older templates are not usable. So, I have included one that I made it you want to use it. With so many different seeds I want something I can use to distinguish the different varieties I plant.

Arrived a few sponges short of a happy 50-pack
Ordered this back in January. Just started the kit in March, discovered that the pack of 50 grow sponges was actually 43 grow sponges. Just emailed support requesting additional sponges to be sent. Frustrating when you took the time to plan out all 50 seed starting spots. I recall reading quite a few reviews of customers having similar issues of not receiving all 50 grow sponges.
I will update on progress of my own seeds in this unit. Starting a massive variety of deliciousness.

Love the idea, problem transplanting
This is the best way to germinate seeds! I've had great success and no critters.
Unfortunately, when transplanted to the outside, the plants are not doing well. I hardened them, but when moved to soil it seems they can't adjust to getting their nutrients from soil vs. water.
Perhaps I waited too long to transplant? Plants are yellow and stunted.
Any advice appreciated, and if I can solve this the product is absolutely a 5! (Do agree it needs a dome).

"Pump Tower" does not easily transfer
The assembly instructions say to "Remove Pump Tower from Grow Deck by pulling firmly down." That does not work. There are 4 plastic tabs that will snap off if you pull "firmly down". Why no just include an additional grow tower in the box and have us transfer the pump. Not an easy accessory to attach. I'm sure it will work beautifully once we have a pump attached, but getting to that step will require an extra purchase if we don't want to break our original parts.

Mold!
Unfortunately only a third germinated and some of those died from too soggy cones. I had a big problem with very unappetizing mold on the tops of the cones. Perhaps a template, or even better yet, a paper covering could be available. This could have a slight sticky dot to match the openings on the tray. The seed opening could be left uncut so that you only need to cut open the ones you plan to use. This would take care of the mold. The ones that did grow were terrific! I didn’t even harden off the plants as they took off without a pause! Bok Choi is ready to harvest! Last year, planting Bok Choi seeds the traditional way produced not a single suitable plant. If a template is not available, I might make my own as I love the ease of starting my plants from seed! If it weren’t for the mold, this definitely would be a five star rating!

Misleading Product Title!
Wish I knew this wouldn’t fit my aerogarden bounty
model before I purchased it. I’m going to DIY the tray because i don’t like wasted money, but it would not fit the the thing. The box even
says for all 2019 bounty models… i bought my
bounty May 20 2019. Turns out it doesn’t fit the bounty ‘elite’ models from 2019, with the shiny stainless steel basin. I hope my review convinces the company to rework its description better and title. :)

Kind of tough process.
All in all the quality's good, but it was very tricky to remove the pump from the original 9-pod cover. It wasn't super difficult to remove the seed starting cover to switch it back, but I'm afraid it's because I weakened the original clips in the process. I had to be extremely careful not to damage the clips and manipulate 2 different butter knives at the same time to pry the retaining clips up from the original cover.
