Start your garden's seedlings indoors and extend your growing season. The Harvest Slim Seed Starting System will fit the AeroGarden Harvest Slim or Harvest Elite Slim garden (not included) and allow you to sprout up to 23 seedlings while you wait for the weather to warm enough for outdoor planting - no sun and no soil required!
Just replace the standard grow deck in your Harvest Slim or Harvest Elite Slim garden with this seed starting tray, place your seed in the coir grow sponges, and drop them in to the 23 spaces in the tray. Your garden can run its normal cycle, no special settings needed. In a few days, you'll have little sprouts that you can easily take out of the garden and transfer into your outdoor beds when the soil is ready. Starting your garden from seeds is cheaper than using store-bought starter plants, and you can choose from so many more varieties.

Lettuce is one of the fastest-growing indoor crops and it's a staple. Different types of plants take different amounts of time to germinate and grow. In general, we’ve found these germination timeframes to be consistent:
- Flowers take about 7-12 days
- Salads: 5-8 days
- Herbs: 5-15 days
- Fruiting vegetables (such as tomatoes and peppers): 7-14 days

Aero Garden harvest Elite Slim Seed Starter Board
I purchased the Harvest Elite Slim model at the right time!! They have gone up in price something fierce!
I have used my Aero Garden to grow the herbs and petunias. I have transplanted the petunias to outside pots, and they are doing great! I water them with the liquid plant solution every day!
I also ordered the 23-hole starter board that I used once to start sunflower seeds, but the seeds needed to be deeper in the pods.
I have purchased another hydroponic system that I will receive today. It is not an Aero Garden, but I got it at a steal! I hope that it is at least half of what the Aero Garden system is. And, I believe it will be!

Could be much better but still worth it.
I wasn't happy about the fact it doesn't seat properly in the unit. It is kind of wobbly, which makes the unit,, in my opinion, call for water more frequently. Also, not all of the seeds germinate because they are so close together and the taller plants block light from shorter ones. There is also no place to mark which seed is which. The only way you would know is if you planted all the same. By planting all available spots, you can't completely cover each seed with a dome because they are too close together. I would use it again but not use all the spaces to allow for light to get to all the plants. Unfortunately, this will mean the water will evaporate quicker because there will be open spaces. The unit doesn't come with covers for holes not filled. I don't even think AeroGarden sells such a thing.

Super productive device
This is an absolutely wonderful system I would give it five stars for simplicity and ease of use., But I had a problem with molding and algae. This may not happen with other people with other types of water systems. But it made it very easily for me to grow more than enough starters to have a percentage of failures and not be broken hearted. The use of a soft cone makes transplanting so much easier than if I grow them in a regular plastic cage from the aero garden.

Initially grew great
I received this prior to Christmas and proceeded to set up the system with the pods of herbs that came with. They grew great. I decided to get some of the planting pods to start my own seeds. I don't know if these are supposed to react this way or not, but they are all molding in the system at this moment. I am hoping that the seeds will start. I don't know if this is normal or not. I plan on contacting aerogarden for advice. Will update at a later time.

Review mostly on the sponges that came with it
What in the heck are these sponges made of! I have been buying sponges from Aero Garden for almost ten years now, and have never ran into this. They don’t even feel the same. There is some black, slimy, shiny crap all over the sponges, and most of my seeds never sprouted. Even though I re-seeded them. The seed starter itself is great, fits perfect, but the sponges are just horrible. Don’t know where they are getting these things from now, but they need to stop!

Quick and a garden saver
This was a saving grace this year when I accidentally left my seedlings outside and they all burned. The see starter got my new set of seedlings up and ready to plant, so fast and without thinking about it.
My only problem was with algae. Since the tops of the sponges are not covered, like in the usual setup, I did have a lot of problems with algae and mold growing on the top of the sponges. May create a paper cover next time.

Perfect for Garden
I have purchased two of these seed trays. I have started my vegetable and flower garden with these seed trays. I have discovered that the seeds typically come up faster in the aero garden then when I sow them in seedling pots or directly in the ground. I found some small storage containers at the Dollartree in the craft department that are the perfect size for domes. They come 6 per package. I am happy with my purchase

A suggestion...
Some thought was put into this machine! It's super easy to have success for a beginner and is really fun for someone who has been growing since they were little. I only have one suggestion: have a clear column in the front of the "fill to here" tower, so people who place the AeroGrow on a shelf can clearly see the water level when filling, without having to use a step ladder. Thanks so much for this quality machine!
