Grow Anything

Indoor gardening can't get any simpler!

Plant and grow your own seeds in your AeroGarden!

Our Grow Anything Kits allow you to plant and grow your own choice of seeds in the AeroGarden. Whether you like to grow snap peas, cucumbers, or wildflowers, you can do it with the Grow Anything Kit. Either grow your plants to maturity and harvest right from your AeroGarden or easily transplant seedlings and plants outdoors when the temperatures are ideal - perfect for root cuttings as well. With the Grow Anything Kit, you can plant and grow all year- round, no matter the season.

Your seeds will grow in water, light, and air with the optimal conditions of the AeroGarden. Biodegradable Grow Sponges provide the ideal balance of oxygen and water for reliable germination. Indoor gardening can‚ get any simpler!

We have seen people grow just about everything in their AeroGardens. Here are some things to consider when growing your own seeds.

How big will the plant get compared to the size of the garden? For example, if you plant squash, you would only want to grow one pod in a Harvest (6 pod) garden, two in a Bounty (9 pod garden) or 2-4 in a Farm (24 pod garden.) You would not want to grow squash in a Sprout (3 pod) garden.

Can you really grow anything?
Yes and no. Yes, you can grow anything and it is always fun to experiment and try new things, but some plants are either going to be too big, or they really don't like growing in water. For example, you can grow any variety of tomato in the Grow Anything Kit, but some will eventually get too large. If it is a dwarf variety, it will do great, if they are mega tomatoes, then you can start them in your AeroGarden, but it is eventually best to transplant them into your outdoor garden. Another example is spinach, it really does not like to grow in water, and many experienced AeroGardeners will tell you the same.

Can you grow succulents?
Yes! Succulents thrive in the AeroGarden. You can plant a full grown succulent, a petal from a succulent, or even seeds. If you are starting your succulent from a clone (a leaf/petal) just cut a slit in the grow sponge and gently insert the leaf, and plant in your aerogarden. After some time a new succulent will grow out of the base and the leaf will fall away. Same goes for cactus!

Can start plants to transplant outside?
Of course! However, if this is your main intention, it is better to use our Seed Starting System Treys, because you can grow 2-3x more plants, and they do not require the plastic baskets. Just grow your plants to about 1-5 inches, then transfer outside. Watch our informational Hardening Off video to learn more about transplanting.

How many seeds should I plant in one pod?
Typically we recommend planting around 3 seeds per pod, for better success of germination rates. It is best to reference the back of your seed packet for information on that particular plant. Sometimes you will only plant one seed (large seeds like squash) or up to 5 (very tiny seeds like kale.) We also recommend making sure that your AeroGarden or microgreen trays are clean and ready for action.

Experimenting with the Grow Anything Kit is a great way to learn about which plants like what conditions. If you want to hear peoples success stories, we recommend finding an AeroGarden group. There are several on Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, ect. People love talking about their AeroGardens and all the do's and don'ts.
